Growing up in Japan, I never, in million years, would thought to write about Dekopin, let alone making a video about this cool, cruel, yet can’t-stop tradition.
I come from the east coast of the U.S. and was snowboarding since I was in college. Because of the area I was in, you can imagine that the slopes available to me weren’t all that impressive, which is probably why this trip in Japan seemed so great.
One of my favorite towns in Japan is Yugawara. No, not because of GNT’s Yugawara Batsu Game. I have been researching about Yugawara for the past year and I really like this town and I admire their hot springs and ryokans. =)
My father-in-law loves to drink. The last time I visited he was proud to give me a taste of this Shochu called 百年の孤独 (hyakunen no kodoku).
It’s cold tonight and I’m wishing I had a Kotatsu right now! Kotatsu are Japanese tables designed to be used while sitting on the floor. In the summer, kotatsu are just plain old tables with very short legs. But once the temperature drops, the table gloriously transforms into the warmest place
Tuskiji Fish Market might be the best first place for the travelers to visit in Japan. I mean, where else would a jet-lagged gaijin go to at 5:00am and you’re as awake as the teenage ravers on Sunday morning?
